Well Maintained Building
The 1000 S Westgate building in Brentwood, Los Angeles has been well maintained by the existing HOA and Board. HOA dues have been kept at their existing level for many years, and so the building manages the cost of maintenance very effectively and cost efficiently. Where things become problematic is the authoritarian way the Board President conducts herself. She has been in this role for many years, and considerable tension exists with some owners. Fines are levied for relatively minor infractions which can be viewed as an abuse of power or unwarranted.
